Eleganza e praticità con i rivestimenti in pelle ed ecopelle

Leather, eco-leather or fabric?!
This is common dilemma when it comes to choosing the upholstery of your new bed or sofa. Whereas fabric may be suitable for more casual settings and satisfy different stylistic requirements, leather and eco-leather are durable and practical options for those that want both elegance and comfort. All of the solutions have specific advantages that may influence the final decision you take also on the basis of lifestyle, budget and environmental sensibility.

Comparing leather and eco-leather

Natural leather gives furniture an elegant and timeless appearance, adapting to both classic and contemporary designs. It is resistant to wear and can last for decades if maintained correctly. Meanwhile, eco-leather is a synthetic material, produced without the direct use of animal leathers. It is generally more economical and it can be made in lots of colours and textures, offering greater scope for customisation.

Our upholstery

From vibrant colours to paler shades, our eco-leathers are available in over 50 different tones. Sirio (Cat. C), Alce and Rem (Cat. E) combine aesthetics and functionality, and are all produced in Italy. Super, Extra and Top are the three categories of leather upholstery offered by Samoa. All European in origin and chrome-tanned, these leathers stand out for their type of print and visual appearance.
Super comes in an elegant semi-glossy Uruguay print with a pleasant tactile sensation, Extra is the category of matt leathers with Dollaro print, and Top includes high-quality covers that embody two unique and fundamental characteristics of leather, naturalness and softness.

A kit for taking care of leather

Cleaning leather is essential for preserving its beauty and durability. This is why, on request, Samoa provides its customers with a special kit consisting of a delicate detergent, a protector and a sponge cloth. In fact, to avoid damaging this material it is important to use specific non-aggressive and non-abrasive products and to perform all operations correctly, for example dabbing rather than rubbing the surface. Keeping it elastic and moist with a specific fluid is another measure that helps keep leather in excellent condition.
